I just took apart my lawn mower engine to find a broken connecting rod in the oil sump. The cylinder wall looks okay, but were the connecting rod connects to the crankshaft there are a few scratches and grooves wore into it, its not bad, but just wondering
You need to find out the tolerance then mic the diameter of the journal and make sure that it is not out of round, It depends how deep the marks are in the journal. I would just use fine emery cloth to make sure that there are not any high spots around
