This chainsaw hasn't been running for at least 10 years. The carb has been cleaned out and everything but it will not start. I haven't tried it for months now but i believe it wasn't getting any spark whatsoever. Maybe its the ignition or magneto thing?
Are you sure it has points? They haven't been used in quite some time. If you have wires coming out from under the flywheel it may have points. You can check the spark by removing the sparkplug, reattach the wire and ground the plug to metal. Pull
